Scholarship Winners

2011 Winner Caramia Capone, a freshman at Lafayette High School, is the 2011 winner of the Williamsburg Women's Chorus and Choraliers vocal scholarship. She has been studying voice with Ron Boucher of the Eastern Va. School of the Performing Arts for the past four years, as well as musical theatre and classical ballet. She has been a paid soloist at the Italian Festival in Williamsburg for the past three years. Caramia will be performing with the Williamsburg Women's Chorus and Choraliers for their spring concert "All Nature Sings!" in May 2012 at Walnut Hills Baptist Church. It is her dream to pursue a career in music. 2010 Winner Hailey Voorhees a senior at Jamestown High School is the 2010 winner of the “Williamsburg Women’s Chorus and Choraliers” vocal scholarship. Hailey has been studying voice with Ms. Hunter Moncure of Williamsburg for four years. She has participated in the vocal division of the National Federation of Music Clubs Junior Festival held each year at William and Mary. Hailey always achieves the highest score possible. Hailey is also involved in theater productions at her school and has been in numerous shows over the years. Hailey will be performing with the “Williamsburg Women’s Chorus and Choraliers” on December 14th at Walnut Hills Baptist Church on Jamestown Road. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m.
Mary Efimetz, a freshman at Walsingham Academy, is the 2009 winner of the Williamsburg Women's Chorus vocal scholarship. She has been studying voice with Mary Fletcher at the College of William & Mary for two years. She has been enrolled in the W&M Opera Workshop course with Ryan Fletcher and has participated in the program recitals at Ewell Hall. Mary is a member of the Madrigals singing group at Walsingham and is a member of the school drama club. Mary also sings with the Williamsburg Choral Guild. She hopes to pursue a career in music performance or musical theater.
Victoria Brinkley, Lafayette High School, was chosen to receive the Williamsburg Women's Chorus' 2008 voice scholarship. She has been studying voice with her mother for several years and earned her first Gold Cup in the National Federation of Music Clubs Festival in vocal solo this past school year. She also competed in the state-wide Mary Smart competition in voice and won fourth place. 2007 Winner
